Front End Developer

We’re on the lookout for a new Front End Developer. Members of the front end team work directly with our developers, designers, and clients to realize a collective product vision. You’ll be involved from conception to launch, acting as the glue between function and form with client-side technologies.

The Role

Envy Labs is an Orlando-based, employee-owned web consultancy that has been building software for companies like Cisco, Google, GitHub, and Booz Allen Hamilton since 2009. We’re also responsible for founding Code School, a popular learn-to-code subscription product purchased by Pluralsight in 2015. Envy Labs is small by design, and most staff members have a tenure of 8+ years.

  • You’ll drive the translation of design systems and wireframes into usable interfaces for web applications.
  • You’ll be responsible for meeting milestones, setting expectations, and maintaining the highest level of quality for every project.
  • You’ll interact with our design and development teams to ensure a seamless process from initial idea to live product.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone to work in our downtown Orlando office, but remote positions will be considered for the right candidates. Relocation assistance is available.

Requisite Skills

  • Solid grasp on the ins-and-outs of CSS and markup at scale, with bonus points for CSS-in-JS experience and Sass usage.
  • Desire to stay on top of CSS specification changes, browser adoption, and try new application styling solutions.
  • Experience with JavaScript and comfort working with a team in a modern framework (React, Ember, Vue, etc.)
  • Demonstrable communication skills through things like (but not limited to) blog posts and speaking — as consultants, our clients rely on us to suggest, defend, and check in.
  • Experience optimizing for user experience, accessibility, and responsiveness, alongside application of animation principles within an interface.
  • Problem solving and a passion for tackling unique requirements.
